Hi guys,

I haven't used deviantART is ages and while I do try to keep it somewhat active, I feel like I have grown out of this website. 

I'm not too sure if I'll deactivate it or just leave it as a relic of my younger years. It definitely shows some... artistic growth? ;;; My art has grown a lot and I don't feel it suit this website very well. I've moved to 3D and more painterly work when I do return to 2D on occasion. 

While I'd love to keep updating and get commissions on here, I really doubt it's going to happen. But who knows, maybe I'll come back with a snowstorm of art? 

If you would like to keep up with my artwork, I have moved to ArtStation. However, this is more for professional/portfolio work than anything else. Unfortunately, it's not with my usual handle but if you would like to check it out - throw me a DM. 

This all being said, if anyone thinks I should stick about - let me know. 

I've been at a loss of what to draw and get motivated to improve, so I've made my own improvement challenge to commit to! I'm sharing it on here to see if anyone else would be interested since they're always fun~

I'm going to spend 1 to 2 hours on each piece, unless otherwise specified, although I may go back to touch them up afterwards. 
The tips/examples are more reminders for myself!
This is more of a speedpaint challenge than anything else, but I may do some traditional pieces as well - these shouldn't limit any medium though.
I'm not making this a "one point per day" style challenge because I can't do that myself, too busy, so I'm aiming to do at least 3-5 a week. 

1. A master study of a portrait, in a style you would like to work in. Example: Exercise 37 Results: Master Studies Step by Step
   
2. A face study, using a reference.
   
3.  4 Different expressions, using references.
   
4. Gesture drawings - 4 minutes x 10, 20 minutes x 2.
   
5. A skin study. Tip: Don't be afraid to colour pick and use colours you wouldn't think should be there, ie: greens [link]
   
6. Hand studies x 5, 20 minutes each.
7. Use the above to create a study or piece of your OC - full body and/or character sheet Example: Character Doodles: Eve, but more detailed
   
8. A master study of a landscape, like the portrait.
   
9. A sky
   
10. A landscape. Tip: Consider the horizon line/perspective.
11. A waterscape
    
12. A store front
    
13. The room in four different lightings. Tip: Think about gradient maps and colour layers
14. 20 minute environment work from your imagination x 4
15. A 'concept' of your OC in an environment they would like 
    
16. Life studies - could be people or animals, maybe sit in a coffee shop and do this.

So hand in is over and that means my first year of uni is over too. I'm free for the next few months! Anyway, I thought you guys deserved an update since the last one was about a month ago~ 

Hand in went smoothly (I know you guys need to know this) and I don't have anything to do until May 6th, which is my last ever lecture of the year. I'm planning to get an industrial piercing and to explore some stuff around the city until I move out. Otherwise, it's play games and art all the time! 

I'm also planning to set up commissions, do more studies and environment pieces, as well as more stuff with my OCs. I will probably start doing that sometime soon! 

Anyway, more attention can be provided to the internet again. Just give me another day and I'll be up and going again!

Last time I did OC facts, I got tagged again by QuantumNightmare, so I'm just going to do that now:

Evelyn Walker Evelyn Walker - Reference
1. Despite having mess everywhere, she somehow can locate things pretty quickly and knows roughly where it all is. Some digging is required.
2. She still hasn't perfected how to close her wings, but she's working on it. 
3. She burns pretty easily, so wears factor 50 anytime she might be out. 
4. Drones are becoming the in-thing, so it is for Eve too. Multiple tests and failures are starting to become a problem for locals. 
5. Taking off can still be an issue if she isn't at high enough ground, you'll generally find her on roof tops in case of emergency
6. For close quarter situations on the ground, she can sprint pretty fast now.
7. Her goggles also work as protection for welding things.
8. Often has her hair done up when working and has oil smeared everywhere.

Okay, so I'm going to do Inuro Kurai~~ I know he is somewhat developed but he needs some more love. For once it's not Eve!!

1. He has a folder that contains all of his old art, it's hidden so nobody else can find it but he does check it out sometimes to motivate himself.
2. He won't admit it but he has a huge crush on Tsuyoshi and just wants to snuggle him while they nap or something.
3. Although he's laid back, he has a lot of anxiety about the future. 
4. An early morning type - He loves the sunrise.
5. He probably draws landscapes at sunrise the most. (He probably pisses Tsu off by waking up at 4 am on missions so he can draw)
6. Watercolours and brush pens suit him best.
7. He doesn't need glasses or goggles but he got jealous of Tsu's cool look and demanded a pair
8. Can and will sniff out your food to eat it. He's the type to ignore the labels on food in the fridge if he fancies said food.

March generally equals Crufts time for me, so everything gets stressy and rushed. It was definitely the same this year!

Crufts

I'm back from Crufts, we were showing on the 1st day. Handled our little girl, Diva, for the first time in a while. I'm so proud of her!! She enjoyed the first part of the ring and was okay with the busy environment of Crufts - it's a lot worse than a normal show. There was a near upset when the dog behind us ran far too fast and ran into our behind, causing Diva to freak out and bolt off away. However, we kept it under control, pulled to the side and rejoined the circle at the end - moving perfectly again. The judge did give us another go, after getting very mad about the situation, and we moved brilliantly again! 

In the end, Diva and I got 2nd out of 3 - beating her sister! We definitely deserved that placing but it was really a first for me considering how well she did in the ring. We really cracked it!

The boy got 3rd out of 9 dogs! He moved pretty well but he didn't put his ears forward when he needed too, he did afterwards, though! Typical Teddy... 

It was a great day, however, we did get lost. We ended up walking for an hour to get to the right car park, but it was good either way! 

Updates

I'm particularly stressed at the moment because I need to catch up on work. I had problems with my 3D model and need to re-topologise it, making me a bit further behind than I would like to be. I need to write up a few things as well... Oh well, I will get to doing that now. I'll be making a time machine later this week too. There may be a post on the results of the pillar and the time machine at some point, and of course, more life drawing!

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in commissioning me. Money isn't on the short side since I'm doing okay at saving money, but I'm not against actually doing some work! I would probably do character designs or pieces in a similar style to this piece: Character Doodles: Eve

Also, there would be an opportunity for pet commissions, such as this piece: Teddy.
